Battleground Mobile India Ban News
Readers across the country are looking for evidence of the allegation and we are here to discuss it. It was found by a report in IGN that the PUBG Mobile Indian version – BGMI is sending the data or users to China. PUBG was previously banned in India just for the same reason. According to an IGN report, a reader came to the team and said that Battleground Mobile Apk sends data to the China Mobile Communication Server in Beijing.
The report also found that BGMI sends data in Hong Kong to Percenta Beta managed by Tencent and to Microsoft Azure servers in Mumbai, US and Moscow. Last year, PUBG was banned for the same reason and ties with Tencent had to be severed.
Has it been verified that BGMI sends data from Chinese servers?
Claims do not deny that the data is still being sent to China. To prove this, Techs at IGN installed a data packet sniffer in the phone. This app tells which server is used to communicate with the device. They played a BGMI game by keeping logs of all the servers that BGMI is going to talk to.
Then they did the Whois search for the servers and found that one of the servers is managed by China Mobile Communications Corporation. It is a Chinese state-owned enterprise and the server was in Beijing, China. The data of the device has been sent to this server. In addition, BGMI was also found to ping a Tencent server in Beijing during startup.
Can these outcomes lead to a ban on Battleground Mobile India or not?
As these developments appear to be different from what Krafton promised earlier, these outcomes could lead to serious action. Recently, Krafton claimed to have severed ties with Tencent and was no longer the publisher of PUBG Mobile India. Krafton also said that the security and privacy of the player data is their top priority.
But it seems that all these outcomes could now lead to the banning of Battleground Mobile India. Some of the political leaders have already demanded the ban on BGM India. Battleground Mobile India is not even fully implemented in India, and we are still seeing these developments. Now users are really worried that both their data and Battleground Mobile will be banned completely in the country.
CAIT urges to ban Battleground Mobile India game
Confederation of All Traders in India – CAIT has written a letter to Shri Ravi Shankar Prashad (Minister of IT and Communications of the Union) demanding that BGMI be banned. They said it was a threat to national sovereignty and security, and it was also harmful to the youth.
CAIT also asked Google to remove BGMI from the Google Play Store and not allow it in the future. CAIT’s secretary general tweeted that “After #PUBG was banned last year [and] now they are bypassing the entrance by intrusive laws.”
BGMI program banned or not?
Battleground Mobile India is not currently banned and its beta version is available in the Google Play Store. If more developments continue to take shape, the government can take strict action again. We hope Krafton can prove they are not leaking any user data, but it does not look promising.
